The tartan is a piece of fabric (historically made of wool) composed of stripes of bright colors, arranged according to defined schemes called "sett". These intersect with each other to form colorful chess.

In the 1920s he introduced the tartan pattern "Burberry Check" in the lining of his raincoats. Since then this motif has become an immediately recognizable fashion sign. In the Fall/Winter season tartan is a fashion trend and is used by brands in extremely creative versions.
